Summer - not for long though

Summer comes
as a blossom flowers,
and saplings grow
into mighty towers.

Warm again
it will be,
as fishermen
head out to sea.

The ice caps,
they melt away,
as the breeze
makes the branches sway.

Children,
out in the yards,
downtown filled
with streetside bards.

But only for a while
will the rivers flow,
as winter
creeps in slow.

All is white
and all is pale,
blizzard winds
tear up the sail.

Gone again
the summer sky
never for long
I wonder why!

Is the "Ain't no sunshine" also inspired from the same feeling. By the way how long is summer in New Foundland. I shall be visiting the comment book again to see if you have answered that.
