Have we lost ??

Thoughts far apart
 on a sunny winter afternoon.
Cool winds biting in
 chilling the soul

Placid lake on a
 muggy summer morning
entwined with,
my existence

Cast aside
by the unseen.
Forsaken he has,
you!!

No more,
the belief withstands!!
mishapen by
ungodly hands!!

Laws of humanity
 based on reason
some others
 believe it treason!!

Lost to us
 mighty wisdom
beginning of the end
a ship caught in a doldrum

Edgewise
forward
deep seas on one side
fires on starboard

The ogre

Laughter,
in the distance
Sounds of night,
nearby.

Firewood,
crackling,
in the winter wind.
Somewhere,
an infant hungry.
Somewhere,
a life rescind.

Unhand me
, daemons abound,
playing without
so much as a cheer.
little by little
the fading sound.

Final notes,
a harmony,
with a thousand beats.
The ogre,
he warns us
and the mind
it cheats.

Tears of god

Shadows dancing
upon the brick wall
as the vine creeps up slowly;
the torch flickers in the wind.

Red, from the kilns of hell
the bricks coloured
from the blood,
of tainted souls.

Black, from years of
disdain and hate,
the hearts rotten,
of men.

Blue, flowing
from the mountains,
tears of god,
flood the world.

In tune

Music, unfiltered raw music; the essence of life itself, as some wise man once put it. Carnatic, bollywood, rock, blues etc. and sometimes even rap can sensitize the nerves and pull them into a deeper state of being. Transcending all cultures, music is something that binds us all; no matter where we are from and what language we speak the same notes and the same octaves exist as a part of our lives.

A significant part of my day and most of my night(yes even when I'm sleeping; i like some panpipe music playing in the background), it has played a major part in my development (if you think I am so retarded now, imagine what I'd be like w/o the music to help me). The thing about music is the play of contrasts, it is a highly abstract and creative process to make music but it is so methodically mellifluous that when I think about it, I am dumbfounded. The highly complex arrangement of notes by Led Zep or the simple beats of a Bhangra dhol, all have a niche of their own, a mood attached with each song, a certain sentiment conceived with each note struck.

I wonder sometimes what makes music what it is to us. Why do humans feel the need to express themselves in melody? What keeps us all in tune...

What if...

I do not know what the future holds for me nor do I know if I will be as lucky as I have always been. My job for now is interesting and the work is not too hectic, but sometimes...
Sometimes, I feel like I need to take a break and go do something else, something that makes me really happy. Don't get me wrong, I like my job and it does make me happy, but there are other things that I would rather be doing. Like travel the world and write about it. Yeah, that's what I would really like to do, become a travel writer. Late at night, awake in my bed, I wonder what keeps me from letting everything go and become a back packer. Just hitchhike my way across some long forgotten village in the middle of nowhere. Other times, I'd like to reach the pinnacle of the corporate world, leave my mark on the world.

How does one decide what is right for him?? Who can tell you?? When do you know and how!!! All these questions and more rage within my mind. I do not know how to answer them nor where to start seeking those answers.

All i know is that one day,50 years from now, when I look back upon my life. I might wonder, what if...

Pariah

An alien, I
in a world no less.
Invisible,
at large.
Pariah,
for those who can see.
Alone, I,
in a melee.

There are better worlds,
out there.
But home,
I long for.
Someday, someday
i'll make my way to my own shore.
